My New Year Countdown has always been pretty safe but this year, i decided to turn the tables around because i wanted to experience the opposite.
Honestly, it's difficult to say if i wouldn't mind going through the motions once more.
I didn't really enjoy everything that i witnessed especially when practically everyone i knew got wasted.
Before i know it, there was i; the only conscious one amongst the drunkards and semi-drunkard individuals.
The worst was the fact that i had to tolerate their so-called entertainment pretending it was hilarious when all that i saw was a group of individuals intoxicated by alcohol and acting loony.
Maybe i'm the kind who doesn't know how to have fun or perhaps my definition of fun isn't of the same frequency as what other people might consider as merriment.
I'm aware that we're from two different worlds and i can't possibly appreciate the things that you like and likewise, you can't do so for the things i enjoy as well.
I guess it's best that we remain true to ourselves and stop acting like we can blend in when right from the start, we know that the notion is absurd.
I'll leave you with your world and u'll leave me in mine.
Because at the end of the day, we know that we can always meet halfway.

BBQ session with the college buddies.
All the laughter, team work and gorging of barbecued food was definitely well worth the journey of traveling from Tampines to West Coast Park.
We had a session of Taboo afterwards where i witnessed the most random and spastic moments of those that were once my classmates.
Time passed really quickly when u're having fun and we had to head our separate routes but we already set aside another date to have a session of gaming, movies & dinner.
I can't wait!

I found it as a rather bizarre experience.
The chaotic ambiance which will you never witness on television where nothing stops even for a minute.
The stage crew running here and there, the cameraman squeezing his way through the mosh pit to capture the best angles and abnormal reactions of supporters.

On television everything appears to be close to perfection yet in actuality, the slip ups are apparent.
Everything is concealed so brilliantly leaving viewers only with the best.

More interestingly, the opportunity to witness the response of human behavior would be most memorable.
Instinctively, everyone knows when to start screaming and when to keep their composure.
From where i was standing i observed fans overreacting when their idol was sent to go home & similarly the case when they moved on.
There were those which were obsessed to the point of doing anything to ensure that they were noticed my their idols.
Worst, those who shamelessly blurt out their indecent thoughts for everyone around them to hear.

To put it simply, i was left in a state of disbelief from the moment it started to the moment it ended.

Last minute shopping trip with my younger sister.
UNIQLO was having this mega sale and we wanted to grab some basics but the queue was literally from one end of the store to the other end.
Being impatient homo sapiens, we decided to abort the idea and went shopping at some other stores.
But i'm definitely heading back to the store one of these days to grab that red skirt cause i personally feel that it's a must-have item.
Now i start to wonder why Singaporeans are so kiasu.

It's 6 now & i'm starting to be insomniac once more.
I have to keep myself occupied in order to be tired and to fall asleep easily.

The boyfriend is back!!
Huda is hyped!!

Huda had dinner with him together with Nasir & Eena.
Last minute plan and i had to once again rush to get ready within 1/2 an hour.(i'm sure i lost some weight from all that running)

2012 wasn't that awesome.
Maybe i had too high expectations of the movie that i felt that the plot was too predictable but credits must be awarded for the graphic though.
Still, the visual appeal wasn't sufficient to keep me awake throughout the entire movie.
To make matters worst, the crowd could be compared to zombies as they barely made any noise.
Come to think of it, i believe that the poems that i've studied have a better version of the apocalyptic scene.(ok wait, i think i'm being over-dramatic!)

All that aside, i just made friends with Deejay Aedre today and considering the fact that he just started deejay-ing, i think he's good.

I managed to study history for 4 solid hours today after which i spent 2 hours and 45 minutes looking through the entire 2010 spring/summer runway collection.

As for the rest of the day, i was happily watching Project Runway, America's Next Top Model, doing my daily routines and reading the WWII novel Catch 22 which the boyfriend bought.

And yes, that's how banal my life can get if school is out.

Someone just told me " I think you should start dressing down a little cause u're gonna be 20 next year".

Trust me, i was beyond irritated when i heard this.

What's with human beings and the need to dictate other people's life?

In the first place, where's the link between being 20 and the need to dress up like everyone else?

You can't possibly expect me to be walking along the streets of Orchard road with tee shirt and jeans combo just because a majority of our population is wearing it.

You would know well enough that even when i'm out studying i'm in my vintage dresses and flat pumps.

What makes you think that i'm going to tone down my dressing and start wearing tee shirts and jeans paired with branded handbag just because i would be venturing into this 'kakak-kakak world' soon enough?

Here's the reality, the moment i start earning my own paycheck, i would update my look book more often and experiment with more styles.

Afterall, what i'm wearing presently is relatively ordinary in comparison to what i possibly intent to wear. Let's be realistic, this is Singapore that we're talking about. Just how extreme can we push the fashion boundaries especially when we're stuck with summer all year round?

Put me in Harajuku or Milan then most probably you would see me totally putting in effort to dress up when i hit the streets.

To put it simply, your request beyond absurd. Hence, don't bother. Wait till i'm 45 or 50 and only then would i take into consideration of your appeal.

Performance was beyond awesome.
I had kick-ass fun but i couldn't tolerate the lipstick as plumping effect made me look as though i was bitten by some insect. What's worst was that no matter how much i attempted to rub it off, it simply won't come off. The blusher was equally a nightmare.It was so thick that i felt like some social escort.

There's this part of me which knows that i'm capable of nailing every single target yet there's this other part which knows i'm not capable of multi-tasking that well.
I'm in the middle of my Prelims and things have been rough so far. The reality that i can't flamboyantly announce that i would ace any papers already is a clear indication that i'm not prepared for the A's.

Getari is set to perform for a racial harmony show this sat and dikir training has been back to back.
Having missed an opportunity to perform the last time due to school commitments, i wouldn't want to give this a miss once more especially when i've committed hours into training.
Honestly, stress is catching up with me sooner than i expected.
One moment i easily lay out to you the lyrics to the song and at the very next, totally forget the rhythm and words to the song.
The irony is such that while attempting to focus and get the steps right, my mind is polluted with economics and literature yet when i'm actually revising, the lyrics of the song start floating uncontrollably in my subconscious.
I collapsed under pressure by admittedly saying i simply can't sing and perform the steps all at once when it was possible for me to do so the last time round.
I threw in the towel and that's my reality laid out on a blank sheet.

There's filming final year project to complete once my last paper is over. The script to memorise together with the props to design and only to complicate things further, shooting would be on the same day as that which Getari would be performing.

Everything is happening all at once.
It's of no logic that i can possibly be at two places at the exact same time nor is it even possible that i can confidently divide my 24 hours a day exceptionally well such that i'm able to accommodate studying, practicing and memorising all within this limited time.

This is the point when i start doubting my capabilities to a position that i'm this entity with raised hopes and failed expectations.

30 minutes after the math examination commenced, i was looking around the room for inspiration.
Whatever pure math knowledge i had felt antique, i couldn't make any sense out of section A.
40 marks gone within 30 minutes and i proceeded with section B.
I managed to grapple with a few questions and it wasn't long before i was caught in the ordeal of completely giving up.
I began staring at each question hard hoping some light bulb moments would occur. It didn't.Not initially.

I revisited each question at various intervals.At certain instances i felt lucky as flashbacks provided an insight on how i could possible tackle the question.It must be the works of divine intervention i thought.

2 hours into the paper, a quarter of my question paper was layered with doodlings.

I managed to scan around the room to see how others were doing. I saw some heads on the table, some feverishly attempting the questions and others who were just giving each question a go hoping that they would gain some sympathy marks.

That moment, i really wished time wouldn't pass so slowly.

Julitta did 0843C a favour by counting the number of essays we had to write for the examinations and i never thought it would be a much as 21!

Caught Transformers Revenge of the Fallen with Sheela.

I wasn't supposed to be out shopping today especially when i'm obviously broke but mummy wanted me to accompany her to get new shoes( once more). So yeah, i went shopping again and this time, all transactions were made by mummy. Before heading out, i attempted to put on earrings and realised something, 3 of my ear piercings are no longer functional.I swear it's freaking pathetic beyond levels of comprehension and it only means one thing and that is i would have to re-pierce.Haiyoo.So Troublesome.

Anyways i'm voting for holidays to be extended like seriously or else i would risk screwing up my prelims 1 like big time.I need more motivation to study. GRRR! I'm not even halfway done. Crap.
This is the time when you start freaking out and pray some divine intervention would come to your rescue.

Huda was supposed to meet Athirah at 11.30 am at Orchard Mrt but apparently, she woke up 5 mins to 11 resulting in her having to get ready in half the time and surprisingly, she was able to do so.
She managed to ransack her wardrobe, take a shower and apply make up in 30 mins which isn't possible on normal days.
Huda also accomplished something today and that is to successfully apply eyeliner while on the bus.
Once again, i'm a total flop when it comes to punctuality.
The next time someone wants to go out with Huda especially when its before 2p.m, be sure to check on her 3 hrs before the meeting time.

I think i'm starting to dislike the GSS because i'm penniless now and hence, i shall rot at home for the weekends and more importantly, STUDY for the Prelims which is so not cool.
Time to unleash the inner nerd and party later.Now, i really wonder how Asher Roth can love college.

Anyways, i feel really bad cause Athirah couldn't find her white lacy dress.

Hanging out with Chao SG24 babes & dudes made me drunk because Cheng Han & Estella suggested playing this card game where we had to keep drinking each time we single out a red card or did something that broke certain rules.
I got drunk on coke & green tea.Unbelievable.
We were practically pigging out & became instant victims of massive consumption of junk food.
But we exercised thereafter when we took approximately a 25 mins hike out of Yanka's condominium to the main road.
And because the surrounding was practically trees and more trees, Jameus & Cheng Han attempted endlessly to scare the shit out of me but to no avail.
I must applaud their determination though.
The dudes then headed to the nearest 7Eleven to grab their liquor and they were rather amused that i never consumed liquor before especially when one after another claim that their Malay friends all drink.
Thank goodness Derek the Chaomon cum Cina Mat reassured them previously that drinking for Muslims was only applicable to a segment of the population.
We took the train back home and i dropped off at Kallang to accompany Isabelle to board a cab home as she had curfews and we didn't want her to get into any trouble.
And here i am attempting to study when its already 6 in the morning.
Ok Sheela, i think i can hi5 with you cause i'm gonna screw up my prelims especially when some of my classmates are mugging for more than 6 hours daily.
Let me ask myself again, JUST WHAT THE HECK AM I DOING IN A JC?

The Land of The Lost wasn't superb nor was it entirely a flop.

It's one of those movies which you will forget after watching say 15 other movies.

Went to the hairdresser thereafter and chilled at Esplanade rooftop.

There was one part where we broke into laughter similar to that of hyenas completely oblivious to the couple who was (based on Sheela's judgement) caught in some debatable argument.

I personally do not care if we irritate the shit out of them because it was a public space and i seriously need to unleash my suppressed emotions as Derek the Chaomon puts it.

I'm turning anemic all over again.I wonder who's draining my energy.

Its 4 in the morning and i'm aware that i'm not making any sense.

If u're reading this, i apologise that i wasted approximately 30secs of your life.

Nothing can outdo this experience not even falling in love.

Maybe i lost a week to do my revisions for the prelims yet i gained experience far more superior than being a participant of Pre-U Seminar last year.

Being a Student Liaison Officer was a definite eye-opener.

Interacting with teachers which I've never talked to before, hanging out with amongst the smartest kids in Singapore, instructing the participants, communicating with random people and having heaps of fun.

From introduction sessions through ice-breaker games to chit-chatting during meals, from stoning during parallel presentations to working together to complete the activities at Sentosa, together with helping one another with the patchwork and turning all loony to beat fatigue and not forgetting running continuously around the CBD area and playing Indian poker at night.

Parting after spending 5 days together was something no one was looking forward to especially when we had meals, sew the patchworks,camwhored and travel practically everywhere together.

I swear SG 24 really knows how to party like a rockstar!

I just adore each and everyone of them.

Let's hope that this friendship built in the shortest period of time lasts longer than that built with eternity in mind.

Plot revolves around the historical debate between science and religion.

It was rather absurd to note that the majority of the audience in the cinema didn't broke into chuckles at various points when the dialogue was in arguably witty.

There was i caught in the predicament between laughing in the mists of the cold-blooded silence in comparison to keeping mum like as though i'm robbed of the capacity to over-analyse things.

How weird.

The context of the storyline was set in a tone of all-seriousness and one wouldn't find it highly amusing unless one bends towards the liking for movies characterised with melodramatic twists.

All in all, the movie is highly satisfying especially for a GP students like myself, Sheela and Gabriel.

T1 is sexy cause quite a number of my favourite stores are located there.
Topshop, Dorothy Perkins, Outfitter Girls, Chamelon,Times, Diva, Sasa, Punk Star!!!
This only implies one thing and that is, there will be more shopping trips in time to come.
Chomel has a new store located at Tampines Mall. hudaa is so loving it!

Instead of using the money that i saved for the week to purchase new shorts, i spent it on a bracelet and necklace at Chomel, plus a top from Uniqlo the No.1 Japanese casual wear brand(picture above).

I think the next thing on my shopping list is this vintage oversized top from Mango and my aim is to get it in my closet by next week.

Now that i'm rather contented, i shall spent the next 5 hours studying.You can do it hudaa, it's all in the mind!

I'm sickeningly frustrated with my standing broad jump results.
Perhaps my biggest weakness is when it comes to jumping and because of that, i was forced to spend my entire P.E lesson practising on my jumps. One bloody hour jumping like some retarded toad in search for a meal.
The best part is, now i'm limping and i spent last night struggling to bear with the pain. I cannot even straighten up my legs.
For every step that i take, i'm reminded of the torment due to the piercing pain at the thigh muscle.

I have no clue how i'm going to survive through later because the SLOs are going to make a trip to Tanjong Pagar and Boat Quay area to check out the locations that we are going to bring the 2009 Pre-U Seminar participants for their amazing race.

I believe that there is some truth to what my Economics tutor said.
It's either career or relationship.Maybe in my situation it's more of either education or relationship.
Time and again i'm confronted with the miserable fact that i can't seem to be able to juggle both of them equally well.
It's always the scenario where at the expense of one, it comes with having to forgo the other.
Well, not literally sacrificing the other but more of doing well in one area and suffering a retardation effect on the other.
In ensuring that matters of the heart are tended with considerable importance, it comes with the opportunity cost of falling behind in my studies and witnessing my grades suffer substantially and on the contrary, while attempting to keep up with what's necessary in school, amour highlights an evidently bleak aura.
Perhaps one can never be able to attain the best of both worlds.
Maybe i should consider asking myself what my priorities are and if it's really worth it to compromise my potentials in one field just so that i can i have something from the other.

I need to make a choice and pray it be quick.

Nothing sounds promising for the moment and it's disturbing that i'm neither here nor there.

I shall offer you my theories about boys today as its 4.30 a.m & i'm not yet in bed and i'm freaking bored.

Now, i've come to a conclusion that it would be a precious gemstone to find a Muslim guy in this era whom we can compare to that of our father.

Just inform me of the number of male adolescence who religiously pray 5 times a day because he aware of his a responsibility to do so. Maybe praying 5 times a day is too much to ask for. Let me settle for the number of Muslim guys who actually attend Friday Prayers these days. I can still recall that almost all my Muslim classmates back then in primary school seeing Friday Prayers as a mandatory but i believe that opinion no longer hold these days.

Well, i'm not saying that everyone is like that as i do know of some guys who actually perform the prayers 5 times a day without fail. I sincerely respect this group of guys.

But don't you think that it's a pity that they are a rare find?

Just observe the amount of Muslim male population that you find lingering around town at the time when they're supposed to be at the mosque? Worst, the bulk of them whom leisurely display their drinking obsession almost anywhere and everywhere together with the bunch who glorify their tattoos like as though they are some kind of religious act.

I'm not speaking like as though i'm some pious Muslim who is attempting to critise all those guys with tattoos and those who drink cause i'm pretty much aware that when it comes to religion, i fall short of meeting expectations.

But i find it rather disturbing that the bundle of our prospective husbands may not even have a sound religious background to begin with and how then are they going to guide the family towards the supposedly righteous path?

Well, in the aspects of dating, most of us wouldn't mind our boyfriends adorning tattoos since they claim them as a medium of body art but just think about it, would you really consider bringing your boyfriend home if almost every part of his body is tainted with tattoo to meet your parents? I don't know about you but i sure wouldn't have enough guts to do so.

Yes, you may argue that with the advancement of science and technology these days, removing a tattoo isn't much of a hassle as long as you can produce the cash.

What about drinking habits then? I know of many who time and again pledge not to touch alcohol yet when presented with temptation and peer pressure crumble at the invitation. Habits is not something one can get rid off easily so let me ask you again, are you sure you don't mind having someone who drink as your future husband? Alcohol is a no for me when it comes to husband material.It's either he abandon his drinking habits before marriage or totally forget about the whole notion of marriage.

Maybe the most i can compromise with is the extent of someone who smokes.Other than that, u're off my list of eligible life partners. The statistics are shocking when i realised that it's a 1 out of 7 scenario to stumble upon a Muslim male teenager in my contact list who has a stable educational background,an effectual moral standing, one who does not drink,club or has a tattoo and at least perform his Friday prayers.

For the lucky ones who have found the precious gemstone, hold on to them tightly.
As for myself and others, maybe we should start searching for the type of guy who fulfills our criteria of eligible bachelors.

I clearly recall my mother waking me up at 6a.m before she left the house but i told her that i would wake up in 5 mins time.But obviously, that didn't happen.The next time i took a glance at the clock, it was 5 mins to 12.(so much for 5 mins!)
I got all panicky as i realised that i was supposed to turn up for cheer practice at 9 a.m.OMG! hudaa is such an ill-disciplined person. Since i couldn't revert back time, lets just pray that they didn't learn a lot of new routines.
Rahimah text asking if i wanted to accompany her go shopping.I obviously said yes!

All that personal not-so important details of my life aside,
I presume that i need to be a SUPERGIRL to survive next week.

Mon-Tues would definitely be dedicated to cheer practise till late.I doubt if i can survive through Tuesday.There will be lesson after lesson together with evening lecture and rushing off for final cheer practice.
Wednesday would be the ultimate showdown for cheer and i can predict that i would reach home around 10p.m.
Thursday would be a normal school day except that i would have to rush off for dikir straight after lessons end.
The good news is that Friday is a public holiday so it wouldn't be so taxing and that i can conserve all my energy for dikir training at night.
I would have to wake up early on Saturday to get all prepped-up for dikir performance and as soon as i'm done with that, scramble my way to Bugis to attend 'The Importance of Being Earnest' literature play.
As for Sunday, one thing that i can assure you is that i'll sleep like a log regardless of how inconducive the environment may be and afterwards, combat with hours to complete my assignments.

WOW! It's rather amazing that i'm actually predicting what will happen next week.

To summarize everything, i came to a conclusion that i desperately need to zonk out early tomorrow or suffer the consequences thereafter.

Everything is starting to clash with one another.
New Media Arts with cheerleading and with dikir.
Even performances are just a few days different.
The flu bug is planning on a relapse, even medication won't work.
Attending lecture 1/2 of the occasion trying to prevent myself from coughing or sneezing too hard because of the apparent irritation that it would bring on my neighbours imposes an educational cost.
I'm lagging behind and it's not something that i'm proud to declare.
Physical Education at this moment just adds on the detrimental effects of my health especially with educators that illustrate a deficient in what we understand as mercy.

Dave Barry once said "Once again, we come to the Holiday Season, a deeply religious time that each of us observes, in his own way, by going to the mall of his choice".
I bet it wouldn't come as a surprise if i were to inform you that i went on yet another shopping spree.
Strange as it may seem, there was minimal crowd along the streets of Orchard to a point that it appeared as though i was taking a stroll along some ghost town.( On a second thought, i think that's too much of an exaggeration) but i've never ever stepped on foot the streets of Orchard Road with it being unpopulated with shoppers. The effect is so jarring to a point that the whole atmosphere feels surreal.
This was rather an added advantage for myself as i didn't have to wait for eons long just in order enter the fitting rooms.
I managed to purchase whatever i wanted to while sticking to my budget and i collected my Reebok high cut sneakers from Heeren as well.It's like the lust item from a week ago that appeared in my sleep God knows how many times.Ok, kidding!
Now that i have a big hole in my wallet, it's time to save up before spending once more.
Believe it or not, i've created another shopping list that i must conquer within the next two weeks.
I swear shopping is addictive!

OH, and one more thing, i want to purchase this exact pair but the catch is i want the base in black and i've been searching high and low for it but apparently i can't find it yet.

I require a little help people...
Can some God-sent angel inform me on where to get it.
